Being presented with the question of,  did the team make the right decision by abandoning Mark when he got left in the dust storm? I would have to say that if you look at all of the possible outcomes they did make the right decision. With this decision it takes the best for the group and with this decision it keeps the rest of the remaining group together and keeps them away from harm. They stayed for as long as they could and when they had the time to look for them they used it very effectively. The leader though did a great job by keeping his team together and providing them with the best knowledge avalible option based on all of the knowledge he has to keep the group together and out of harms way and having more casualties. Even though it is hard to give up on someone you feel is out there, there comes a time where you have to think about what is best for the whole of the group. The only other outlet they could have made was to split the group up and have some stay and some continue on the journey which I don't think would be a smart idea. By splitting them up you're risking danger with the lack of numbers. So by making the decision of leaving Mark was the safest and smartest decision the group could make.
